Our 2013 family vacation to Anna Maria Island

Much like how the cobbler’s kids have no shoes, the photographer’s family has no pictures.  Images from our family vacation are way overdue.  We went to Florida with my parents and some childhood friends only two months after my daughter was born.  She is now 6 months old…d’oh!  Either way, it was a fantastic trip that went way too fast.  It is nice to relive the memories through pictures and I can’t wait until we return in the spring.

Since my main responsiblity during this trip was to keep my daughter fed and happy, everyone else took turns spending quality time with my son.  My father patiently played with my son in the pool as he slowly made his way around the edge of the pool.  Love these quiet moments.

One of my favorite times of day here is sunset.  Being on the gulf, we are able to enjoy some beautiful sunsets.  They become an event and a wonderful end to the day.

Anna Maria Island is a wonderfully peaceful town.  We are in walking distance to so many adorable places for a quick getaway.  The Rod and Reel Pier is an institution.  There is a great main street area with boutique stores but it was much easier to stay close to the house with an infant.

It is amazing to watch a childhood friend transition into motherhood…especially when she is thrown into the deep end immediately by starting with twins.

The start of family vacation photos as a family of four. Yipppeee!

A little bit of time spent at the house.

My son made my mother read this shark book to him EVERY day, MULTIPLE times a day.  She really has earned her grandmother stripes.  One of my husband’ favorite parts of the trip is the canal off the back so he can kayak out and go fishing.  Thankfully he is successful.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand…back to the beach for sunset.

Grandmom snuggles with her sweet granddaughter.

An impromptu meet up led to some haphazard group shots.

One of my favorite shots…what a touching moment between the two.

Even though we are on baby number 2, my husband still gets nervous around babies.  Here he finally got some bonding time in with his daughter.

This was year two in our new family tradition of going to Anna Maria Island.  It is amazing to  think that when we return, Natalia will be walking!  Until we meet again AMI!
