For years I have been hearing great things about the Elmwood Park Zoo, located just outside of Philadelphia, PA.  I’ve been taking my son to the Philadelphia Zoo since he started walking.  When we lived in the city, the zoo was a welcome reprieve from city life so we went often.  However, my neighbor and I wanted to take our kids out for the day and didn’t feel like doing a big zoo while being outnumbered with 5 kids.  So we chose a smaller, but still awesome, alternative.  If you get those coupon books for your kid’s school then you will be able to get one child in for free with payment of an adult.  It is not a massive zoo but it has a lot to do.  There are rides that our kids loved.  There is a wide variety of animals.  Plus it is just a really cute place.  My favorite things to do were feeding the animals.  I highly recommend the Elmwood Park Zoo as a great place to bring your kids.
