August 2013 Kids Were Here

Another month of Kids Were Here already!  This summer seems to be flying by way to0 quickly.  I am trying to soak up the memories of playful days spent at the pool or the park and evenings spent catching fireflies.  It is getting even more fun to see my children interact as my daughter gets older and is no longer just lying around.  If only I could freeze them at this phase for just a little longer.

My daughter is drooling big time…her grandmother felt so bad that she went out and got her some teethers.  No teeth yet but we are prepared.

My son is obsessed with Trader Joe’s Os.  Problem is, he only likes the cream filling and not the cookie.  Consequently, I find cookies sprinkled throughout the house…sometimes in a line.

During a quick trip to the liquor store, my husband became the proud owner of a fake mustache.  He even got into the car wearing said mustache…he already has a goatee and mustache so it looses some affect.  This fake mustache was hysterical to our son.  At one point, I thought it was lost…apparently it was not.

Monsters Inc was a big hit in our house.  Before Monsters University came out, my mother bought our son a Monsters University Bed tent.  He was instantly in love.  Anyone have a bed tent growing up?  My brother and I did.  It was great…although I think it was from Lands End or LL Bean or something.  It had an attached fitted sheet and it was made of canvas, not plastic like this tent.  I can not find the good quality bed tents anywhere.  If you know where to get them then please let me know.  Thank you!Ever since our son started preschool, he has taken a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to school in the exact same sandwich container.  It is starting to crack but has done a good job of keeping the jelly from getting smashed.  A cardinal sin in a child’s world.

Characters often hang out in our dish rack.  Although the owls are mine…

A childhood staple that should be incorporated on a regular basis.

Baby baths always seem to be a major event.  Although I won’t mind when we no longer need our massive baby tub, I will be sad when she no longer fits into it.
